The world values compassion that sits in the dust with the destitute and is leaned on by the lonely. The world values compassion that bathes the broken and stays with the suffering until the last breath. Let us be the compassionate ones who do not flee in the face of the struggle to find solutions to relieve the hurt of others. Let us wisely and quickly respond to the call of those with a need but let us never seek to make acts of compassion our tool for telling our own story.

There are quotation marks around our lives. If no one will ever hear what we are doing will we still be there for the person who responds to our question, “What will you have me to do?”
